(I hope that is a catchy enough title.)
Week one of camp was an absolute blast! First days of camp are always the most nerve racking due to the fact that it is usually a new environment, and first impressions are always a lasting impression. Throughout all of this I'm pretty sure I made a great lasting impression on these kids that they looked forward to seeing me everyday, and often regretted leaving camp at the end of the day! I felt like I accomplished so much!
Admittedly my week of camp was cut a little short because of a sudden stomach bug that STILL has not completely left my system. I was absent from camp for a day and a half within the week, and upon returning the very next day my children welcomed me back with open arms and were very willing to do whatever I told them to.
Now with all this positivity there is some things that could be improved upon. As discussed at the dinner last Thursday many of us confessed to having a problem with keeping activities within a certain time limit, and letting certain activities run into others. Time management is something I also constantly found myself struggling with every single day. But I know that with more practice doing the activities every single day, I will get the hang of it.
I'm super looking forward to next week!

(kids being very kind to one of my disabled students in a game of tag. Letting of of them get tagged on purpose. Very heartwarming.)
Dreahna- I love your positive attitude! This will carry you through any challenges you may be facing.
