"The Work"

"I question things. It's not about not accepting things as you're told, but asking why. I guess coming from that vantage helps me connect with other cultures and celebrate them."

This passage stood out to me in the book "The Work" for the simple fact that we as humans are always so inquisitive. We without thinking sometime always have a constant desire of knowledge in whatever form it comes in. I found that as a camp counselor that same mentality is no different in the eyes of our youth. They are even more-so inquisitive even at such a young age. In morning activities while I am teaching, they are constantly asking me questions. Some that I find myself taken back, and cant find the answer to myself. It is very pleasing to know that a child's mind is always running. Always wanting more. Always wanting to answer to things, whether it is big or small.

  1. Dreahna- I really like that quite too. I agree that it is especially pertinent when working with kids.
